WOW!

  Interesting story about datura....

A couple of years ago I was at a friend's house and noticed a HUGE datura out front.  I also noticed the seemingly glowing flowers.  Suddenly this huge thing flew out of one of the flowers and into another one.  It was dark, but I honestly thought it was a bat.  I quickly folded the blossom closed and opened it under the porchlight to reveal a HUGE moth-like creature. It was a hummingbird moth:

And I think the flowers glow because of the UV light that is a natural part of sunlight.  It's more noticeable at dusk and dawn.  Apparently a lot of flowers glow under UV light...and this helps their pollinator insects fond them.

  Here's an example:

Holy crap, I've never seen a hummingbird moth before!  You know, that is interesting about UV light.  Perhaps it was a combination of the light, the UV effect, and my state of mind that made seeing that plant a mystical experience...

Well there is also the possibility you were seeing the plant's energy?  I read an article once about "tree auras" that kinda made me roll my eyes, but since then I have had a few occasions where I think I can see them....or see SOMETHING.

I'm thinking about doing this wild plant walk on a Sunday afternoon at Bryan Park one weekend soon.  Maybe this Sunday coming up.  Anyone interested?

Okay, wild plant walk won't be tomorrow, I'll be tied up.  And besides, there are tumbleweeds blowing through here...
